The uneven pay between confinement and management, long work hours, child labor, and dangerous sped up conditions, led to the large increase of unions. Americans targeted people who emigrated from other nations, simply were very targeting towards Germans. Any German American was bitterly attacked or was cautiously watched. Many American that were Germans had lost their jobs. Orchestras rejected contend Mozart, Beethoven, and so on. Towns with German names changed them, and Libraries censored all German literature.
