Beginning of Movement- The beginnings of revolutionary terrorism in India can be traced to the rising of Vasudeo Balwant Phadke in Maharashtra in 1879. Phadke dreamt of establishing a Hindu Raj by collecting together a secret environ, raising money through dacoities and instigating an armed revolt through disrupting communications. The remarkable thing about Phadkes band was that it included a few Brahman youths and many more than low caste Ramosis and Dhangars. But the rising was suppressed. Phadke was captured, sentenced to life gyves and sent to Aden where he died in 1883.
